Studio Sprout has been experimenting with woolly pockets for a couple of years now with great success! Woolly pockets are felt, partially recycled plastic lined planters that can be mounted on walls. The back is plastic lined so that it doesn’t mold on your wall, the front unlined part allows drainage through the felt. We mounted one on an outside wall last spring to make sure that there wouldn’t be any molding problems. After a summer of continuous rain (almost every day!) and high humidity – no mold! It is easy to install drip irrigation so don’t have to worry about watering. We are now managing an installation for two large blank walls – 40 wooly pockets! Stay tuned to see the final effect!
