Studio Sprout is proud to announce that Connie Roy-Fisher is the first landscape architect in the state of Florida to achieve accreditation in the Center for Healthcare Design’s EDAC program.
EDAC stands for “evidence-based design accreditation and certification”.
A large and growing body of evidence indicates that the physical environment affects levels of patient stress which can directly affect health outcomes. The physical environment has also been found to affect patient and staff safety, staff effectiveness and the quality of care provided in healthcare settings. Basing healthcare facility planning and design decisions on the best and most current research to achieve the best possible outcomes is what evidence-based design is all about. An evidence based design team is an integrated collaboration between design professionals, healthcare facility administration, clinicians and staff, product suppliers and construction personnel that base site and building design decisions on the best and most recent research.
